The Build (Part 2)

The final design of the title 'Long Last Love' is a combination of font design and a single moon to exaggerate the idea of 'romance'

The final design overall included a book, posters and bookmarks for the first half as the second half will include all aswell as a hardcover book of a full poem book. The final look and concept was headed towards a subtle abstract approach.

The Build (Part 1)

The final build process consisted of several parts. The first being the main, a book. The book would be designed to hold poems and  phrases that relate to understanding how love can be kept abay. As this project will be a 2 part design, The first would be a sort of teaser to the final part as the first would have a 'guide book' like design for lost lovers, the second part would be a full book of poems relating to love, life and such. The 'several parts' stated earlier meant side prodcts other then the book itself would be produced, for example, designer bookmarks and posters.

There will be distinct, minimal art, more abstract as the style suits the concept.

The problem

Problem statement

Relationships is one of the biggest parts of an individual's life there can be, It reflects on a  persons individuality, personality and ofcourse, emotions. Relationships does not necessarily mean a couple of lovers, it could define that between parents to their children, friends and even animals. The problem depicts that in this era especially after the year 2005, relationships do not last as long as they should, miscommunication is imminent and the technology today has a big role to play in it.

The design book of historic reference will be complimented by graphic design and poems relating to love, history and life. By this week i will have done designing the moodboard which consists of concepts i could reflect on my work, colour schemes, and specific details such as the web design.

The final output would relate to eventually learning how to rekindle the love again or atleast keep it going as long as it is meant to.

After our first proposal, i have decided t change it up a little, instead of the final outccome being an augmented reality project with graphics, i have decided to do a full graphic popup book instead.

I got the idea of kids books and being able to get the message across as how i initially wanted to, this would seem more intersting and relate to people more. Having an AR in the form of a whole book can be rather hectic for the end user as factors like the app to make the ar work is needed and also the use of internet and even the type of mobile device.

The type of popup example would be as such..

In relation to historic architecture, the popup would maintaain a printed detail of the structures exteriors.

The mechanics would be postioned as such with minimal colours for a more dramatic feel

According to the brief
" You are to create an Ambient Media with your own ideas as a proposed solution to a PSA campaign or you would like to pursue on a mission of self-exploratory adventure as your Personal Project for this module. You are required to launch your ideas into real-life project on a small-scale level.
You can demonstrate the outcome using different types of medias such as printed media, film, animation or interactive devices. "

Personally i would like to explore my abilities through setting a project for myself.

Projection mapping

Projection mapping is basically the idea of giving inanimate objects, life, through the use of projection of animated motion graphics.

The visual aesthetics intrigued me into venturing in this area of multimedia, an example of this is given in the link below

The best part about projection mapping is that it may be submissive and used on almost any object such as a car or a whole building.

Output

A book completely filled with augmented reality applications (per page basis) that would include video links, online portfolio link and website link plus advertisement mockups. A research showed that this exact idea already seemed to exist though i could use it and follow through on a similar path
